  • New Armored Combat Assistant Deputy

    Attention all populace members, warriors and defenders of the realm! I am pleased to introduce the newest addition to our esteemed Armored Combat Marshallate team: Ragnar MacArthur!

    Mundanely known as Richard Carter, Ragnar will be assuming the role of Assistant Deputy to the Kingdom Armored Combat Marshal. With his exceptional skill in combat and unwavering dedication to the protection of our kingdom, Ragnar will be a valuable leader in upholding the honor and integrity of our noble traditions, while using his experiences to help us move forward as a community.

    Ragnar’s new position will include the following:

    1. Be the emergency backup for the KACM
    2. May make decisions and answer questions on rules, armor, and weapons, adding another level to the chain of command.
    3. Expected to know and understand the rules as they are currently written, but also be an advocate for change, if necessary.
    4. Assist in any and all aspects of the KACM job, including but not limited to :
      • Recieve and check reports,
      • Helping create ongoing training for marshals,
      • Verify fighters are informed and educated on new rules, etc.
      • Be a backup marshal at any event or practice,
      • Poll fighters and have a good understanding of the current Calontir Armored Combat culture.
      • Write and edit current Calontir Armored Combat rules.

    Please join me in welcoming Ragnar as he takes on this important role, and together, let us continue our commitment to safeguarding the kingdom with courage and valor!

  • Gulf Steel Updates

    Calontir!
    Gulf is nigh. With that, a few things to be aware of.
    1, I am unable to make it this year. Thus, my on site deputy is HL Kennocht. He will be running point in inspections. Please be nice to him, we are very grateful for his help.
    2, I am allowing a one time, gulf specific variance for rubber band guns. If you have one, you are welcome to bring it.
    3, There are some small but relevant kingdom rules updates. Notably, you will notice that the text for armor standards has changed. You are no longer expected to armor to the Calontiri C&T standards for armor in rapier. This specifically means, for rapier battles, you can expose arms/legs, you no longer need padded protection on hands/elbows, and you do not need a back of the head protector. Take a look, and let me know if you have any questions.

    Please take this time before war to go over your gear, make sure everything is in working order, and make sure you have access to your fighter cards. Print them out before you leave, you may be asked to show it at some point onsite, and it would suck to wait til the last minute and not be able to do it after all.

  • Would you like to be the next Reeve?

    Hello Calontir!

    I have been your Reeve for over a year now, and we have worked together to schedule many wonderful events! I will be starting the search early for my successor, to ensure a smooth transition for the next Reeve. If you are an organized individual, who checks your email daily, you would be an ideal fit for this Deputy Kingdom position to our Kingdom Seneschal. Do you embrace technology and the ease it brings us; this job is for you. If you’re a spreadsheet guru, please apply, I’m begging you.

    All jokes aside, part of the reason I’m starting this search early is to offer training for my successor on all aspects of this position, so that they feel comfortable and confident to take over the job fully by January 2026.     Attention all noble warriors of the realm! The Kingdom Armored Combat Marshal is seeking candidates for the KACM Assistant Deputy position.

    If you possess excellent communication skills, a keen sense of urgency and courtesy, dedication to attending most kingdom-level events, and a strong desire to serve your community, we invite you to submit your letter of intent.

    Letters of intent should please include the following: Who you are, why you would like the position, and your qualifications related to the position.

    Letters are due February 28th, 2025. Interviews will be scheduled thereafter.

  • New Combat Archery Authorization Handbook

    Greetings, Calontir!

    As we move forward towards War Maneuvers and Gulf Wars, our Combat Archery Marshal, Nahama, has created an outline for running Combat Archery authorizations moving forward in Calontir.

    Here is a short letter from Nahama:

    Greetings beautiful Kingdom,

    My name is Nahama, I am your new Kingdom Combat Archery Marshal. First, I’d like to thank John Bowyer for all of his work during his tenure as the KCAM, and thank you all for this opportunity. I look forward to getting people authorized and on the field offering missile support to our glorious shield wall.

    My first order of business was to work with the Earl Marshal and the Kingdom Armored Combat Marshal on the Combat Archery authorization process. The new document is now available, and I’d love for all Combat Archery Marshals, Armored Combat Marshals, AND participants to read through the new handbook, and send me any feedback they may have. We are hoping this streamlines the process and makes it more transparent what candidates and judging marshals will need to be aware of going into authorizations. Once again, thank you for allowing me to help make even more fun!
