  • Crown Tournament Indoors

    Greetings to the Populace of Calontir from Their Majesties Logan & Ylva –

    Due to the expected temperature on Saturday being in the 30s and 40s when Crown Tournament would be taking place, We have decided that it will be fought indoors. While this may not be ideal from the fighter's perspective, sitting and watching in those temperatures for several hours would not be pleasant. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the pageantry and spectacle, and you cannot do that if you are worried about losing fingers and toes.
    Please keep in mind the restrictions on food and drink in the gym where the tournament will take place (water only), and please leave the area immediately around the list field available for the combatants and consorts to set up their presences.

  • Reminder: Gold Falcon and Good Hand Herald Letters Due 12/02

    A quick reminder that Letters of Intent for Gold Falcon Herald and Good Hand Herald are due Friday, December 2nd.  Gold Falcon is the Principle Herald in charge of promoting heraldry and coordinating heralds.
    Good Hand Herald is the Sign Herald for Calontir.  You do not have to be an expert interpreter or have tons of experience.  We are looking for someone to promote and coordinate silent heraldry.

  • A Request from Battleur Herald

    Good morning Calontir!

    While I do hope you are all enjoying today with family and friends, I have a small favor to ask. Crown Tournament will soon be upon us, and our field heralds will be busy making sure the combatants and consorts are called to the field in a prompt and ready manner.
    In order to ease this process, I humbly request that all combatants and consorts for this upcoming Tournament, please send your name pronunciations to [email protected], or you can PM me if that is your preference. Also, your preference of Title – as there are a number in our List who have acquired a multiplicity of titles, and the heralds should know if one prefers to be addressed by one over another, depending on their precedence. We heralds simply wish to announce all combatants and consorts with the proper pomp and ceremony.
    Thank you all for helping to make the imminent Crown Tournament easier and enjoyable.

  • Seeking Volunteers for Kingdom Silent Herald

    Greetings good gentles!
    Are you passionate about keeping the lines of communication open?  Do you want to make our events accessible to Newcomers and existing members with hearing issues?  Here's an opportunity for you!  We are looking for someone to step up as the next Kingdom Silent Herald.
    You don't need to be a certified interpreter or someone with a lot of signing experience, you just need to promote communication and accessibility through the use of Sign/Silent Heralds throughout the Kingdom.  You will need to be able to coordinate with the Kingdom Principal Herald to find Silent Heralds that can sign for Court(s) at Events.
    Again, you do not have to be an expert interpreter or have tons of experience.  We are looking for someone to promote and coordinate silent heraldry.
    If interested, please send a Letter of Intent to [email protected] by December 2nd.

  • Additional Crown Tournament Information

    We have come to realize that some details about Our Crown Tournament are not widely known, and We think it is important for all those attending the tournament to know them.

    • There is a tradition in Calontir that a fighter must be able to span their shield. This means they must be able to grip the edge and have the longest dimension of the shield in their armpit.
    • Weapon systems other than sword and shield are encouraged, but not required.
    • The tournament will be fought best 2 out of 3 in EVERY ROUND, unless the size of the list would make that impractical. This will be known and announced once the list of combattants is finalized after Toys for Tots.
    • The tournament will be fought outside, weather permitting.
    • The space immediately around the list field (indoors or out) will be reserved for combattants and their consorts. Please respect this space.
    • Pageantry is highly encouraged, by contestants and the general populace alike. Please bring your banners and finest day-camping furniture to add to the atmosphere.
    We look forward to a wonderful turnout and exciting tournament. We know you will not disappoint us.

  • War of the Phoenix

    Good people of Calontir, We have decided to support Our Cousins in Atenveldt in their efforts to restart a winter war in Their sunny lands. To that end, We have registered to attend the War of the Phoenix. We would like to get some idea of how many of you are willing and able to join us.

    This is NOT a muster, just an attempt to determine how many of us might attend.
    If enough people indicate they are going, then We may put out a call to find someone who could take the kingdom trailer. Then we would have the purple pavilion available. But that will not be necessary if we are a few, but happy few going.
    Please consider attending this new war if you have the time and means. Remember, there were only a handful of Calontiri at the earliest Estrella and Gulf Wars, and it was their tales of the wonderful times that got the rest of us to come along. Why not get in at the beginning?
